EGS, Inc. has a core management team based in Santa Rosa, California, led by Founder and President, Paul Brophy, Chief Geologist, Gene Suemnicht, GIS Specialist, Mike Lane and Geologist Bastien Poux. Combined, this team boasts well over 100 years of experience in greenfield exploration around the world.

Paul Brophy - President 
Paul formed EGS, Inc. in 1995 and has been the President and Principal Geologist since that time. Prior to forming EGS, Mr. Brophy was a Senior Associate with Dames & Moore from 1990 until 1995. Prior to Dames & Moore, Paul was a District Geologist for California Energy Company in Santa Rosa, California. Paul earned his M.S. in Mining and Exploration from the University of Leeds, England, and a B.S. in Geology from the University of London, England. Mr. Brophy has served as the President and as a Vice President of the Geothermal Resources Council, and on the Board of Directors for the International Geothermal Association and the Geysers Geothermal Association. Mr. Brophy has over 35 years of experience in geologic and resource assessment services.
Gene Suemnicht - Chief Geologist
Mr. Suemnicht joined the EGS team as Chief Geologist in January 2009. Mr. Suemnicht previously worked with Unocal, Ormat Technologies, IT Corporation and MacTec Engineering & Consulting. Gene has more than 35 years of professional experience in geothermal exploration and development throughout the western United States, Canada, Central and South America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia and has worked in positions focusing on program and project management for projects ranging from geothermal assessments and investigations to environmental remediation. He was responsible for the geologic evaluation and planning for more than 600mw of geothermal development for Unocal Geothermal at The Geysers in northern California and in the Imperial Valley in southern California. Gene earned an M.S. in Geology from the University of Arizona and a B.S. in Education (Geology, Chemistry) from Southern Oregon University. Mr. Suemnicht is a Registered Geologist and a Registered Environmental Assessor, and holds a Certification, Site Assessment and Remediation, from the University of California, Davis. Mr. Suemnicht has also served as Adjunct Faculty in the Earth Sciences Department of the Santa Rosa Junior College, Santa Rosa, California, and has been a guest lecturer at the Geology Department, College of Marin, Marin County, California.
Mike Lane - GIS Specialist 
Mr. Lane joined the Company in 2008 and provides cartography, spatial analyses and subsurface site visualization services to the Company. Previously, Mike worked as a consulting geologist specializing in computer depiction of geologic subsurface conditions and groundwater contamination issues. Mr. Lane also served as research staff and associate director in the Environmental Research Center, SUNY College in Oswego, NY. Prior to that, he worked with Chevron Corporation in various locations both at home and abroad in the positions of exploration geologist, field office manager and project coordinator for pre-production phase uranium mining, and as district supervisor for geothermal exploration. Mike has also served as Adjunct Faculty, teaching classes in environment and geology at Hamilton College and Mohawk Valley Community College. Mr. Lane holds an A.B. from Hamilton College, an M.A. from Indiana University, and obtained his Ph.D. from Indiana University. Mike is a Registered Geologist with the State of California and is a Licensed Geologist in Oregon.
Bastien Poux - Geologist 
Mr. Poux holds an M.S., in Geology from the LaSalle Beauvais Polytechnic Institute in France. During the course of his studies, Mr. Poux acquired theoretical and practical knowledge in Geology and gained valuable work experience with several field assignments. Specifically, Bastien conducted a volcanologic and structural research study for the safety of local inhabitants on Mount Etna (Sicilia, Italy), and he performed a complete geothermal exploration program while interning with EGS, Inc. on the Soufriere volcano in Montserrat (Caribbean). Mr. Poux has also prepared evaluations on several geothermal prospects throughout the western United States ( Nevada, Utah, California, Oregon).
Gayle Detillion - Executive Assistant
Ms. Detillion joined the Company in 2008 as Executive Assistant. Prior to joining the Company, Gayle worked as a paralegal with a local law firm for several years focusing on corporate, business, securities, and transactional law. Previous to that, Ms. Detillion acted as Firm Administrator for a law firm in Oakland, California. Gayle has also worked as in-house paralegal for several start-up alternative energy companies, including a geothermal company.
